The revolving lantern, also known as the revolving lantern, is a unique form of my country’s folk lanterns. It has a long history of making (according to historical records, it was more popular in the Song Dynasty), which fully embodies the wisdom of the working people in ancient my country. Because the revolving lantern is made based on the principle that hot air rises to generate thrust.
As a traditional folk toy, the revolving lantern appeared and became popular in the Song Dynasty. It is commonly seen on New Year’s Day, Lantern Festival, Mid-Autumn Festival and other festivals.
The revolving lantern is a kind of lantern. It uses the upward hot air current generated by the candlelit inside the lantern to push the upper blade inside the lantern, drive the bearing connected with the blade, and make the bearing rotate.
The bearing is connected with paper-cutting, and the shadow of the paper-cutting is cast on the walls of the lantern by candlelight. The paper-cutting keeps moving, forming the continuous progress of the projection on the walls of the lantern, thus generating the phenomenon of animation.
Similarly, the rotating candlestick also uses this principle of hot air. When the candle is lit on the candlestick, the hot air rises and promotes the rotation of the leaf surface, thus forming this magical phenomenon.
