In China: Although Christmas is not a traditional holiday, children who know the story of Christmas will hang a pair of Christmas stockings on their bedside on Christmas Eve, make a wish before going to bed, and look forward to waking up the next day at that time, Santa Claus had already put the gifts they wanted in the socks.

In the UK: Children hang Christmas stockings on the mantelpiece on Christmas Eve to catch Santa’s coins falling from the chimney.

And in France: Children will put their shoes maybe xmas floor socks by the fireplace, filled with carrots, to eat for Santa’s donkey. When they wake up, they will find candy, money or small toys in their shoes.

In Ecuador: Children in Ecuador put Christmas lists in their shoes. These lists were replaced by Papa Noel with new shoes and gifts.

In Holland,Dutch children left their wooden shoes by the fireplace filled with straw for Santa’s reindeer along with a treat for Santa. The next morning, the children would find treats for them in place of the reindeer food.
