Sellers Union College , A New Departure

December 30, the last workday of 2016, our Group held the 2016 annual excellent lecturers and outstanding students award ceremony of Sellers Union College. The Group leaders such as Andrew Fang, Lemon Hou, Jolin Zhu, Jim Yu, Kenny Shao, Justin Fang, Juliet Zhou were the award presenters, and more than 70 internal lecturers and excellent student representatives from Group’s different subsidiaries and departments attended this award ceremony. 

2016 was an extraordinary year for Sellers Union College. In March, Sellers Classroom formally upgraded to Sellers Union College, toward a higher goal; in May, another characteristic special seminar “future manager class” after the “future director class” was opened; in August, various types of professional new curriculums about export sales and procurement were successively developed to meet with students; in September, we tried to run the College openly for the first time. For example, we held the public training for suppliers, and delivered the high-quality internal training course “basic knowledge of export sales” to them, growing together with suppliers. According to statistics, Sellers Union College held a total of 52 training lectures throughout the year. Besides, the students’ satisfaction reached 95.5%. There were 753 trainees for the whole year, and they were trained for 3264 times.

According to the comprehensive assessment of the numbers of lectures, quality of courseware, numbers of developing courses, satisfaction of the students and so on, Michael Wang from Union Source and Andy Yang from Union Chance took off the laureate of “excellent lecturer”; Young Yang from Global Union and Aileen Huang from Union Chance awarded the title of “popular lecturer”; Serena Zhou from Human Resources Department, Rowena Chen and Eileen Zhu from Financial Management Department, as well as Connie Feng from Document Stowage Department selected as the “fashionable lecturer”. Meanwhile, in order to thank the companies for their support to the courses of Sellers Union College, we set up a new award of “learning advanced organization”, Union Chance and Rayiing got this prize for providing with professional courses of more quantity and high student satisfaction. It was worth mentioning that 9 outstanding students were born this year, an increase of 7 compared with last year. What’s more, 14 students won the second prize, and 18 students won the third prize. During the award ceremony, the excellent lecturer representative Andy Yang and outstanding student representative Medic Shi published their acceptance speeches respectively, and said that they will give more lectures and learn more things, and constantly improve their business capacity, so as to make more contributions for the development of Sellers Union College and Group.

When the excellent lecturers and outstanding students took back the advanced certificates, the work of Sellers Union College in 2016 was also finished perfectly. A new year started quietly, the Vice President Andrew Fang described the new blueprint of Sellers Union College in 2017 at the award ceremony. He said that 2017 is a new departure for Sellers Union College, which mainly embodied in the following three points: new institution, new system and new orientation. From now on, Sellers Union College is no longer a virtual training platform within the enterprise, but a practical internal training institution belonging to the Human Resources Department. It is composed of 6 colleagues from the original training group from Human Resources Department and the original corporate culture group from Integrated Administration Department, and the Vice President Fang  personally serves as the principal of Sellers Union College.

Sellers Union College will bring new plates and projects based on the integration of existing training courses. In the future, Sellers Union College will not only have a relatively high-end “Sellers Thoughts Report” which is for the outstanding entrepreneurs of foreign trade related industry, but also have the “Strategy Seminar” for the partners of Group and subsidiaries. Meanwhile, there will have the plate of “Special Seminar” around a particular object and specific theme with an in-depth study. Besides, Sellers Union College will also have the “Sellers Classroom”, “Director Bi-monthly Talk”, “Happy Reading Meeting” and other training sharing projects which focused on serving the colleagues at the middle and grass-root levels. In addition, the College will also strength the exchange and interaction with its peer companies’ internal training institutions and universities’ International Trade Faculties of our city, expanding the social impact of the College.

Vice President Fang also put forward new expectations and requirements for Sellers Union College. He said that the College will hold “civil and military, to fulfill dreams” as the position, and strive to provide a strong talent support for the enterprise development, hoping that through the innovation and efforts of College, both enterprise and employees can be adept with both the pen and the sword, and develop comprehensively, as well as achieve their dreams. Specifically, for individuals, not only improve business skills and management level through learning, but also have a comprehensive understanding about the corporate culture of Sellers, thus enhancing the identity of corporate culture and to be a real “Sellers Person”; for the enterprise, with more “civil and military” Sellers persons’ help, Sellers will not only be a successful, large-scale, strong foreign trade enterprise, but also be a high-quality enterprise with connotation, high grade and cultural heritage, and constantly working towards the dream of “century enterprise” steadfastly.
